Shana DeSouza Druffner was born in Bombay, India. She began her violin studies at the age of 13. Mrs. Druffner studied with Motoi Takeda, Associate Concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and played with the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra from 1982-1985. Upon graduation from Ursuline Academy of Dallas, Mrs. Druffner attended the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. She later studied with Hiroko Yajima of the Mannes Trio from 1987-90 and received her Bachelor of Music Performance, summa cum laude from Rutgers University in 1990. Mrs. Druffner later attended the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C., receiving her Juris Doctor in 1994. Mrs Druffner's was formerly the orchestra director at All Saints Catholic School, Dallas, Texas. She has served on the Board of Directors of Voices of Change, a Dallas based professional chamber music ensemble, and the Suzuke Music Institute of Dallas. Mrs. Druffner resides in Nashville with her husband David. They have raised four children who have all played classical music from a young age.
